Interesting picture. It provokes loneliness, desertion, longing and mournfulness in me. Maybe it’s just my mood, or maybe something is working it’s way from my subconscious. Anyway, I love how your photos capture feelings. Thanks for sharing. I’m bringing your book with me on retreat tomorrow so I can finish it. Looking forward to the great read!

Thank you, Mary Louise. I feel that it’s important and beneficial to note whatever feelings and thoughts come up when confronted by a given image. For me the feeling of being out there, alone — just half a block from my house — when nearby houses showed people watching television, was peacefulness and wonder. From there I walked to another nearby park, where I could walk through a dark lane bounded by tall dense bushes on one side and trees lit by Luna on the other; I stopped there for a moment, set aside thoughts of photography, and just let myself feel connected with everything around me, and also simply feel safe. A precious moment.
